New Etsy Shop

I started a new Etsy Shop.  It's called Sweet Sara Lyn, after my sweet Sara Lyn.  Posh Posies was fun for a while, but there are a billion Etsy shops that sell hair clips.  And to be honest, I don't really enjoy making clips and burning off my fingertips for $2.

I'm focusing on burlap pennants/banners right now; who knows what's next.  Here are some of the items I have in the new shop:

Craftaholics Anonymous Gift Exchange

I was baking with my daughter the other day when I realized I didn't write a post about what I received from the Handmade Gift Exchange.

Stephanie from Utah sent my daughter and I aprons!  We both love them!  They are super cute and well made.  My favorite part of my apron is the towel.  I always need a towel while cooking.
This was the perfect gift for my daughter and I.
Thank you Stephanie!!

Latest Projects

I made some felt mittens that are the perfect size for a Lip Smacker Chapstick.  These were perfect Christmas presents for little friends.
The next project I remembered to take a crappy picture of is another photo pillow for my Aunt.  We rarely get together, so this picture is special.  I used Hometown by Sweetwater, again.  I love their lines of fabric.

One day I'll live where there is sun.  Then I will take a decent picture.

Photo Pillow

I get stumped when I need to have a gift for an adult.  I feel that if an adult wants something reasonably priced, they will go and buy it themselves.  Sometimes I will give a gift card but I usually try to make a handmade item to make it more personal.  My Dad's birthday is 2 days after Christmas and his favorite gifts are handmade.  I think handmade gifts for men are a challenge.
I saw this pillow on Pinterest and knew this is what I wanted to do.  I have the most darling picture of my dad with his two granddaughters that would be perfect.

I love how it turned out.  I used Hometown by Sweetwater.  I think that it's not too masculine and not too feminine.  It couldn't be too masculine with those two sweet girlies!
