My first quilt

I'm done! I've completed my first quilt, and I love it! I used Crazy Mom Quilts' Ragged Squares Quilt pattern. I think what drew me to this quilt were the colors that she used. They matched Sara's room perfectly. And, I also wanted something that I could quilt myself. The only issue I had while quilting was a few puckers on the quilt top (which aren't noticeable because of the loud fabrics). The back turned out perfectly. I had such fun making this that I think I'm addicted to quilting.

i spy purse

My favorite type of fabric is corduroy. I love the feel of it! I found the cutest owl print and made an i spy bag. Unfortunately, this bag was destroyed about 10 minutes after Little S played with it. I didn't reinforce sewing on the vinyl. The fabric will tear away very easily.
So I started over. This time I used fleece and triple sewed everything. I went to Walmart to buy the vinyl, but they were out. So I used a vinyl table cloth in the home department. It's a little thinner but works. The i spy bag is filled with cute buttons from Michaels. They are all purse themed, i.g., lipstick, mirror and a few other things.

Cheater Cream Puffs

This is my kind of dessert. Super easy.

Buy the cream puffs at COSTCO. Remove the cream puffs from the freezer for about five minutes and cut them in half. Add a slice of strawberry. Melt some chocolate chips in a sandwich baggy and take a tiny snip off the corner of the bag to decorate the top of the cream puff.

Best Zucchini

Wash zucchini, cut off both ends. Cut zucchini in half and then in quarters. Place in a casserole dish and drizzle a little olive oil on them. Add a sprinkle of lemon pepper and top with Parmesan cheese. Put in 400 degree oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on size of zucchini. YUMMY!

Baby Shower Invites and Favors

Diaper Cake

This is the cake my friend made me for my baby shower.

For her baby shower, I didn't want to copy her so I used paper to decorate her cake. I think it turned out really cute. It's also nice to be able to use paper that I had in my stash.

Fourth of July Cupcakes

When I was younger, we would make a 4th of July cake with white frosting and used strawberries and blueberries to make a flag. We decided to try something different this year. I bought a white cake mix, followed the instructions on the box and then divided the batter into three bowls. Add a ton of red and blue food coloring and then layer it the cupcake wrappers.
